  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 medium onion, caramelized
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. In a pan, sauté the caramelized onions and spinach until wilted. Season with garlic powder and black pepper.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the spinach and onion mixture evenly over the dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 1-inch pieces.
  8. Place the rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the filling.
  • These rolls can be frozen and reheated for later use.
