Simple Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Tart

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  4. Add in the dry mixture and combine until a dough forms.
  5. Press the dough into the bottom and sides of a tart pan.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then let it cool.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  8. Pour the pumpkin mixture into the cooled tart shell.
  9. Sprinkle dark chocolate chips on top and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  10. Let the tart cool before serving.
