- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, granulated sugar, and eggs until smooth. Stir in food coloring and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed, then pour half into the prepared dish.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread cream cheese mixture over brownie layer, and then top with remaining brownie batter. Swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool before cutting into squares.
