  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and thyme, cooking for another minute.
  4. Pour in beef broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  5. Add the cooked fettuccine and Gruyere cheese to the skillet; mix well and season with salt and pepper.
