  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and additional cinnamon for the filling.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, followed by a teaspoon of the brown sugar mixture, and then top with the remaining batter.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cool before frosting with cream cheese frosting.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the batter.
