  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon green food coloring
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to macaron temperature.
  2. In a bowl, combine almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whip egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar.
  4. Gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  5. Add vanilla extract and green food coloring; mix well.
  6. Fold the almond flour mixture into the egg mixture gently.
  7. Pipe macaron shapes onto baking sheets and let them rest.
  8. Bake until dry and allow to cool.
  9. Make the buttercream filling by creaming together the butter, powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk.
  10. Assemble the macarons with filling between two shells.
